BSI’s flexible user interface provides you with all the information required in order to maintain your product recipes and to give your customer a very timely quote. Recipe changes can be tracked using revision numbers that can later be converted into a Macola discrete Bill of Material, sales and manufacturing orders. You decide what level to provide to the prospect or customer on printed quotes -- all your reporting needs will be satisfied by the various integrated Crystal Reports that are provided with this package.
Integration
You can quote any combination of material, labor and overhead costs to create a quote. In addition to established customers, BSI’s Recipe & MSDS Manager allows you to add and track quotes for your prospects without adding them as an established customer. It interfaces to Macola’s Bill of Material, Inventory Management, Order Entry and Shop Floor Control packages.
Recipe Interface
BSI’s Recipe interface allows you to add existing raw materials or enter new raw materials, you get a single point of entry to add/edit or remove raw materials to a recipe. The interface shows you the cost of each, percentage of mixture, specific gravity, pounds, volume, PHR, pounds of polymer, and characteristics of the mixture/compound as you work.
Same-As-Except
New recipes can be copied from existing recipes, materials removed, added, quantities changed to quickly create a new variation on an existing recipe for a customer or prospect. In addition, recipes may be created completely afresh for new or unique products. Materials can be maintained in PHR, grams and/or pounds.
Integration to the Sales and Manufacturing Process
Once an quote has been accepted by the customer, the quote can be converted into both sales orders and manufacturing orders. In addition to creating the relevent orders, BSI optionally allows you to create new items and corresponding Bills of Material within the various Macola packages.
MSDS Authoring & Archival
BSI Recipe & MSDS Manager also allows you to store all of your MSDSs electronically. You can scan, or import MSDSs for purchased products from an on-line service. You can produce your own MSDSs using built-in 10-part and 16-part MSDS forms. You can search, sort, retrieve, archive and version quickly and easily. Moreover, you can both publish your MSDS library across a company intranet, satisfying OSHA requirements by providing access to all your employees; and to the Internet to give your customers access. And, you can instantly access DOT, OSHA or EPA regulations to determine what is required for hazard communications, hazardous waste operations, emissions and spills, and more.
